How it started: Greg grew up in a split family that moved dozens of times during his formative years and generally came from a rough childhood. However, his grandparents were both solid Christians. His grandfather was saved at a Billy Graham Crusade. Greg spent summers visiting his grandparents and attended a small evangelical church with them. At 18 he moved out of his parents’ home and lived with his grandparents. He had long hair and identified more with the drug culture of the time than church. Greg’s grandfather gave him Hal Lindsey books on the second coming to read. It worked – the reality of Jesus’ coming scared Greg and he gave his life to Christ. His fear transformed into acceptance and love.

From 1981 to 1983 Greg moved back to Yuma, Arizona and worked in his father’s construction business. He made an attempt to go to Bible College at Christ for the Nations and God stopped Him. He went to an engineering school instead, got a degree in Electrical Engineering and graduated at the top of his class.

Greg attended a large charismatic church in Phoenix, led worship and the youth group, and was one of the teaching pastors. He was involved in two start-up companies in the 90′s while carrying his “lay ministry load” which now included helping with a church plant. When Lisa was pregnant with Adam, Greg began looking for a way to cut back on his traveling. They got involved in real estate and started a construction company called Sanctuary Homes. A friend suggested he try day trading. So from 1999 to 2003 Greg was in a steep learning curve that eventually led him to S&P Futures trading.

By the end of 2002 Greg had spent one million dollars learning to trade and was at the end of his rope emotionally and financially with trading. That was when the Lord spoke to him about the rhythm of Fibonacci retracements. (More about that in Greg’s book entitled God’s Rhythm – the Key to Prosperity for this Age). Greg has since been very successful as an individual trader and has expanded his heart to train others in the same method.

Personal Passion: Greg’s real passion is to impact the Kingdom. He saw the key missing ingredient as financial resources. He trained a company executive that offered to help him build a web site to train believers to become successful “traders for the Master.” His goal is to provide a complete mentoring program that will equip Christians to increase their finances to enable their vision for ministry.

Greg has graduated over 300 successful students and is currently training 150 students through his web site. He conducts live daily trading sessions for an hour each morning and has two weekly training events Tuesday and Thursday nights. In addition, his past classes and trading sessions are archived in over 800 hours of teaching.

Personal Benefit: Greg immensely enjoys trading and training others. He has the sense of being on the cutting edge of something God is doing in the Kingdom that has eternal consequences. Greg loves the process of creating something new with a significant impact. The Lord took him through the same process in his two startup companies in the 90′s. Marketplace ministry is increasing in popularity among believers. What is in short supply is practical mentoring on how to multiply finances. Greg has corralled that issue in the area of S&P Futures.

Value to others: Financial increase is an obvious value. The spiritual growth that occurs during the process is equally amazing. Live trading brings out whatever inner healing issues are present in each of us: impatience, an analytical mindset, unwilling to be wrong, fear of failure, fear of being left behind, competitiveness, and wanting to impress others with progress, etc. All of these emotions cloud the simple judgment needed to make trades quickly and correctly. Instead of focusing on a swamp of emotional baggage and bad trades, Greg helps traders focus on what works and helps them become successful with simulated trades and then with small real-money trades. The result is confidence from a consistent success at a small scale that gives the victory over all the negative emotions without being a psychiatrist (God does it!), Greg’s focus is on three simple steps for new traders.

1) Learn one side of the game (learn the buy side first)

2) Take conservative exits (be content with small gains)

3) Shut if off after making 2 points (don’t trade all day)

Business Potential (upside and downside): Greg’s trading method will turn an account from $10,000 to $1M in one year evenincluding taking out $500 per day to live on. However, most traders grow in waves and rest before they reach their ultimate goal. Traders typically rest at intermediate goals – say $1000/day. At that point Greg helps them through a business plan that provides for two things: 1) a cushion in their account for mistakes or bad days, and 2) an emergency fund that will pay the bills for 6 months to a year. At this stage they are completely out of debt and able to give or tithe liberally. That’s when they are ready to continue to the next level in their trading.

Vision for the Kingdom: Greg’s vision is to train students that will truly impact the Kingdom. Having finances that run over your cup allows support of your church or para church organization. It also facilitates expression of your own vision for ministry. Greg would also like to see the day when Pastors and churches are generally supportive of Kings functioning in the marketplace. The pastor of his church is currently focused on getting the congregation out of debt. Greg is hopeful that after the congregation starts to see victory with this that they will then be open to the concepts of God’s Rhythm and increasing their income.

Impact from Releasing Kings: Releasing Kings helped Greg understand his own issues as a King functioning in the marketplace. Seeing the distinction between priests and Kings was profound. It’s a new message that he has already used to minister to friends.

How Can Greg Help You: If you have an interest, the computer savvy personality for trading, and 5-10K to get started, anyone can enroll in Greg’s mentoring. The time commitment is 8-10 hours a week for 3-6 months. 2K is for the mentoring and the rest of the 5-10K is what you would put in your own account to trade with.

It’s wisdom to trade with the simulator for a few months and prove to yourself that you can consistently be profitable (that’s the learning curve). It really will take you the 3-6 months to learn how to be confident and profitable with real money. Treat it like taking a new job or starting a new business and plan on a start-up period where you give yourself time to get your feet wet and learn the trading system and how to manage your own emotions.

A typical week consists of 5 sessions of live trading each weekday morning with a conference call and a live webinar of his screen shots. In addition there is a nightly recap of each day’s S&P 500 Futures market events available as a video on the internet. Lastly, on Thursday nights there is a detailed training session for 2+ hours which covers the basics and ends with a practice trading session. These live weekly training sessions are archived and can also be viewed at a later time from the Trading Faith Web site.
